3-Minute Update - February 20, 2025

Hey everyone, welcome to this week’s 3-minute update. I’m your host, Tyler Matthews, coming to you from a farm! Aren’t farms neat? Look at all these animals! Anyways, let’s start this update with a quick safety moment!

Sarah: Hi Tyler. I just had the craziest dream! I was riding a unicorn on a trail with my troop was hit with an idea… and a tree branch! I should have ducked.

Feeling sheepish, I went to the doctor. She said, “Don’t have a cow. You’ll be feeling froggy again soon!” Then I went home and filled out an incident report.

That dream gave me the idea to talk to you.

Did you know that every injury at a scouting activity requiring medical attention beyond first aid must be reported as soon as possible?

Our goal is to file the report and get the insurance claim form to the injured party within 1 business day. We can only reach that goal with your help!

Take a moment now to search online for Scouting America Incident Report and click on Resources for Units. The reporting forms are at the bottom of the page. Bookmark it for future reference.

To email the report to council, go to the yellow “Need help?” button on our council website’s homepage. Look under “Violation and Incident Reporting” for the email address.

Fun fact, you can upload applications and other documents to Member Care through that same yellow button!

Thanks for letting me gallop into this video so people don’t have to pony up more than they have to.

Tyler: But Sarah, why did you have an ice pack on your head if it was just a dream?

Sarah: Uh, bye!!
