Council Unit Representative (CUR)
The concept of Council-Registered Units (CRUs) was born of the realization that community partners across the country are becoming more and more uneasy with accepting the full liability and ownership of Scouting units. Many organizations that were once pillars of the community now face membership and engagement challenges the same way that the Boy Scouts of America has over the last 50 years.
The Lake Erie Council, being one of the most innovative in the BSA, took charge and created this new type of charter. The goal is to retain these units and their youth while delivering the program as designed and intended. Council-Registered Units need a liaison between the unit and our Council. This person is known as the Council Unit Representative (CUR).
The resources below are available for units who are currently chartered and registered with the Lake Erie Council.
