Featuring the Naming of the Class in Honor of Donald W. Kaatz

Lake Erie Council, Scouting America, is proud to announce that this year’s Eagle Scout Class will be formally named the Donald W. Kaatz Eagle Scout Class, recognizing Don’s decades of extraordinary leadership, service, and unwavering commitment to Scouting.

A distinguished community leader, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and lifelong advocate for youth, Don has shaped Scouting across Northeast Ohio through his service as Council President for three different councils—Firelands, Heart of Ohio, and Lake Erie. In addition to a lifetime of professional success and civic engagement, Don proudly earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a foundation he has continued to honor through service, mentorship, and unparalleled generosity.

At this year’s ceremony, Don will also be presented with the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award, bestowed by the National Eagle Scout Association—one of the highest recognitions given to adult Eagle Scouts who have distinguished themselves in their careers and in service to others.

 Please join us as we celebrate Don’s remarkable legacy and honor the newest generation of Eagle Scouts inspired by his example.
