Matthew “Duct Tape” Metzger started coming to Beaumont Scout Reservation with his older brother when he was younger, growing up helping to run weekend programs and serving on camp staff for three years after being recruited by then-Program Director Phil Williams. After joining the Marine Corps in Fall 2016, he would still come out to volunteer as much as possible. This year, he is back and ready to hit the ground running, and wants to know: Got Sizzle?
As you might know, camp staff definitely does have sizzle. Duct Tape’s camp staff experiences have taught him how to be a leader, and that you have to be flexible because nothing ever does according to plan. Ultimately, he’s found that creating a positive, lifelong impact on Scouts is the most fulfilling part of serving on camp staff – creating cherished memories every step along the way.
