Speaking of fall recruitment, back to school time is just around the corner! It’s time to start planning your units fall recruitment events. Contact your unit service executive for assistance and don’t forget to request your materials early!

We are celebrating the 25th year of the FEST on Sunday, August the 3rd at the Center for Pastoral Leadership, formerly Borromeo Seminary in Wickliffe. We are requesting help with the Scouting America Climbing Wall and tent display. We are looking for scouters and scouts to help in two hour shifts. LEC Religious Relationships Committee seeking new members:

If you are a faith-filled Scouter and would a group of like-minded Scouters to help promote Religious Emblems, please contact Jim Hickey. Additionally, The LEC religious Relationships Committee is looking for a volunteer in the east and west areas of the Council to serve as an Area Captain for funeral honor guards. This person would coordinate the Honor Guard in their respective area. Again, please reach out to Jim Hickey with any questions.

This summer, you can enjoy Scouting at home with your family or even while on a family trip.  Become a Scouting summer scholar by completing some requirements, and in the end, you can earn a patch.  A few of the requirements you might be doing all the time, for example, fishing, going to the zoo, or a national park. Are you interested in planning a trek to Philmont? Have you heard other scouters talk about Philmont, but don’t know what it is? Do you have a scout looking to find an existing trek they can join with? You’ll want to come check out the Philmont: A Leader’s Guide information night on August 13th at the Lake Erie Council Unit Service Center. This free, one-hour informational session will cover everything from planning treks to Philmont training opportunities, and lots more! Come with your questions or just to learn! The national catholic committee on Scouting camporee is being held from October 17th-19th 2025. This “Pilgrims of Hope” camporee is open to all Scouts, not just Catholic units. You can find more information here and for any questions contact Jim Hickey. 

The 2026 National Jamboree registration is now open! Register soon to secure your spot! Additionally, mark your calendars for July 30th-August 8th of 2027 for the World Scout Jamboree being held in Poland. Celebrate 120 years of Scouting with scouting groups from around the world!
