Hey everyone, welcome to this week’s 3-minute update. I’m your host, Tyler Matthews and this week is the unit renewal deadline! That’s right, Friday, December 12th before 5pm, unit renewals are to be completed! This includes online submission through my.scouting, payment of the $100 charter fee, and a fully signed annual charter agreement. Please call your service executive or our membercare team for any assistance you need!
The deadline to nominate candidates for our council level awards is December 15th and nominations can be submitted to Michelle.Cali@scouting.org. If you know someone deserving of recognition at the unit, area, or council level then we want to hear about it! Find all the award descriptions and nomination forms on the council website.
You know what’s cool? Trained leaders! Do you want to be cool? Make sure that you and all leaders Safeguarding Youth Training is up to date, Hazardous weather training is complete, and your position specific training is complete as well. One last EDGE training for this year is taking place on December 21st at the Unit service center. Also, registrations for next summer’s Wood Badge course are now open. Don’t delay, sign up today!
The Cleveland Scout Shop will be providing an opportunity for the Scouting community to help local Scout members who may need uniforms and uniform items.
From now until December 14, a giving tree will be set up at the Scout Shop with giving cards. These cards will have the first name of the Scout and their needs. Supporters can purchase items that will be passed on. If you have a Scout in need or would like to help, please contact the staff at the Cleveland Scout Shop. If you have any questions you can email the Scout Shop.
Solon troop 504 is hosting a First Aid Meet on February 8th from 11am-3pm at Solon School. This patrol based competition will test scouts knowledge of first aid skills and team work. The cost is $15 per scout and they ask that each patrol bring their own patrol first aid kit. Additionally, the Solon High drama club will be providing stage makeup and special effects for a realistic first aid experience. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity!
